is a pretty big deal if you ask me. This is the year when my baby has been able to do a lot of big girl things she's never been able to do before. Things like set the Thanksgiving dinner table for me, wrap the Christmas gifts she bought for her brothers all by herself (she even dug out some punches and made her own gift tags). Chloe is 7 today and she is growing up more and more by the minute. I'm not sad about it though. I'm embracing the sweetness of changes in life. It is so fun to watch Chloe (and the boys) blossom and become adept at new adventurous things each day.
Chloe's milestones this year:
1. The tooth fairy came for the first time
2. Unloading the dishwasher all by herself now
3. Reading chapter books by the dozens. Chloe's new thing is to read herself (and her Webkinz) to sleep each night.
4. Finally sleeping every night in her own bed without
Mom or Dad needing to lie down with her
5. Made theHonor Roll for the first time
(being a 1st grader is awesome, she says)
6. Counting money like an expert
7. Helping with holiday decorating like she's been born with the genes for stylizing
Webkinz are still really big around here so Chloe chose her party theme accordingly. Frosty made the cut for inside the cake and Chloe was really happy when a friend actually brought Frosty a twin sister that she immediately named Snowflake. Watching her name her new furry friends was one of the most fun parts of the day.
My favorite by a long shot is Peeps for the cardinal :)
The Party Itinerary:
1. Dance Dance Dance ("Santa Claus is Comin to Town" by the Jackson 5 was a favorite)
2. Puppet Show performed by big brother Sean
3. Pizza (from Sam's' Club) and Root Beer (IBC in bottles)--both per Chloe's request
4. Trinket Time (we made jewelry for our Webkinz)
5. Photo Opp
6. Cake and Ice Cream
7. Opening Gifts
8. Thank you hugs and goodbyes
Other Birthday fun:
1. Surprise trip to Build-A-Bear (Tabatha came home with Chloe Friday night)
2. Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (have you tried their Chocolate Coconut Cheesecake?! YUM!)
3. Singing and a pencil from Chloe's church friends
4. A birthday announcement over the PA and a birthday card from the Principal
5. Cinnamon Muffins and chocolate covered strawberries to share with her classmates
6. Phone calls from Grandma, Grandpa, cousins, and friends
7. Pork Roast, Potato Casserole with Mushroom Sauce, Apple Sauce, and Salad for dinner tonight
Thanks for joining in the party festivities!
